Sports Medicine SpecialistDr. Robin West is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in sports medicine and more than 25 years of experience caring for athletes and active individuals. She serves as Chief of Inova Sports Medicine and is a team physician for the Washington Nationals. Throughout her career, she has served as a team physician at the professional and collegiate levels, including 16 years in the NFL and more than a decade in both Major League Baseball and Division I collegiate athletics. Her practice focuses on sports-related injuries and both common and complex knee and shoulder surgery, including ACL tears and revision ACL reconstruction, meniscus and cartilage injuries, patellar instability, rotator cuff tears, and shoulder instability. Her goal is to help athletes and active individuals recover from injury and safely return to the activities and sports they love. About Dr. West
"Dr. West currently serves as a team physician for the Washington Nationals and has extensive experience caring for professional and collegiate athletes. During her career, she spent 16 years as an NFL team physician, including serving as Head Team Physician and Director of Sports Medicine for the Washington Football Team/Commanders and as a team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers. She has also spent more than a decade caring for athletes in Major League Baseball as team physician for the Washington Nationals and Division I collegiate athletics as team physician at the University of Pittsburgh."
